In this engagement the Chesapeake boys worked their guns with their
characteristic determination. Many of their comrades had fallen in the first battle
upon almost the identical spot they occupied in the second, and it was to avenge
Grason, Hopkins, Grahame (dead), and Crowley, Shanahan, Vincent Green,
John Green and many others (wounded), that the boys put forth their utmost
efforts.
