CHAPTER 43.
AN ACT to repeal Chapter 526 of Acts of 1908, the same being
"An Act to authorize and empower the judges of the Second
Judicial Circuit of the State to employ a stenographer and
to provide for the salary of the same," and to re-enact the
same with amendments.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Chapter 526 of the Acts of the General Assembly of
Maryland, passed at the Session of 1908, entitled "An Act to
authorize and empower the judges of the Second Judicial Cir-
cuit of the State to employ a stenographer, and to provide for
die salary of the same," be and the same is hereby repealed and
re-enacted with amendments, so as to read as follows:
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the salary of said stenog-
rapher shall be sixteen hundred dollars ($1,600.00) per year
from the first day of April, nineteen hundred and twelve; the
said salary to be paid as follows: The County Commissioners of
Cecil County shall pay four hundred and twenty dollars
($420.00) thereof; the County Commissioners of Talbot County
shall pay three hundred and twenty-five dollars ($325.00)
thereof; the County Commissioners of Kent County shall pay
three hundred and ten dollars ($310.00) thereof; the County
Commissioners of Queen Anne's County shall pay three hun-
dred and ten dollars thereof, and the County Commissioners
of Caroline County shall pay two hundred and thirty-five dol-
lars ($235.00) thereof, said payments to be made in quarterly
instalments, from the first day of April, nineteen hundred and
twelve.
SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That the stenographer appointed
under this act shall serve for one year, and shall be removed at
any time for cause, and shall perform such duties as may be
imposed upon him by such judges of said Court, or any of them.
SEC. 4. And be it enacted. That this act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 44.
AN ACT to prohibit the sale of certain drugs and patent medi-
cines in any portion of Deals Island District No. 14, of Som-
erset county, except as herein provided, and providing cer-
tain penalties for the violation of same.
