also painting on the outside and repairs to the grounds and
fences surrounding the Executive Mansion.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That said work be done under
the personal direction of the Governor.
SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 576.
AN ACT to add a new section to Article 19 of the Code of Pub-
lic General Laws of Maryland of 1904, title "Comptroller,''
sub-title "Supervision of Expenditures of Corporations Re-
ceiving Appropriations from the State," to come in after
section 42 and to be designated as section 43, making it
unlawful for a warrant to issue to any of certain institutions
or corporations for any sum of money until an affidavit has
been filed showing that no sum of money has been paid or
promised to be paid for any services rendered in securing
the passage of the act making the appropriation for the bene-
fit of such corporation or institution.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That a new section be and the same is hereby added to
Article 19 of the Code of Public General Laws of Maryland
of 1904, title "Comptroller," sub-title "Supervision of Expendi-
tures of Corporations Receiving Appropriations from the State,"
making it unlawful for a warrant to issue to any of certain
institutions or corporations for any sum of money until an
affidavit has been filed showing that no sum of money has been
paid or promised to be paid for any services rendered in secur-
ing the passage of the act making the appropriation or institu-
tion said new section to read as follows:
SEC. 43. Be it enacted, That it shall be unlawful for the
Comptroller of the State to issue a warrant to any institution
or corporation of this State for any sum of money or part of
any sum which may be appropriated by the General Assembly
to such institutions or corporations until the said institution or
corporation has filed with the Comptroller of the State an affi-
davit of the president and treasurer of such institution or cor-
poration, and if such institution or corporation has not a presi-
dent or treasurer, then such affidavit to be made by the officer
