this act, and to no other purpose; and shall be paid by the Treas-
urer of Anne Arundel County upon the order of the commis-
sioners under this act, from a warrant book especially author-
ized by said commissioners under this act, with said warrants
numbered consecutively, and the said treasurer of Anne Arun-
rel County is hereby authorized and directed to pay, upon the
warrant of the commissioners under this act, such sums of
money as shall be certified in such warrants and to the persons
or corporations named in such warrants, for and on account of
the contracts entered into by the commissioners under this act.
the cost of plans and specifications of the work proposed to be
done, the salary or commissions of the supervising architect,
and such other expenses as said commissioners under this act
may properly have incurred in the discharge of their duty; and
no part of said proceeds of sale of the said bonds shall be paid
out by said Treasurer of Anne Arundel County except on the
warrant of said commissioners under this act.

SEC. 9. And be it enacted, That the County Commissioners
of Anne Arundel County shall in each and every year levy upon
the assessable property in said county such sum of money aa
may 'De necessary to pay the interest on said bonds by them
issued in pursuance of this act, as the same shall fall due, and
also such further and additional sum as may be required to
retire and redeem said bonds as they mature and payable until
they shall be redeemed.

SEC. 10. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 549.

AN ACT to require the Western Maryland Railway Company to
erect and maintain safety gates at the crossing on Church
street, in New Windsor, Carroll county, Maryland, and to
employ a flagman to operate said gates.

(Vetoed.)

CHAPTER 550.

AN ACT to provide for the construction of a sewer on High
street, College avenue and Cannon street, in Chestertown,
Kent county, Maryland, and to issue bonds to pay for same,
