CHAPTER 542.

AN ACT to repeal section 149 of Chapter 105 of the Acts of
the General Assembly of Maryland, Session of 1910, entitled
"An Act to amend section 30, 149 and 158H of Chapter
310 of the Acts of the General Assembly passed at the Ses-
sion of 1908 and add a new section thereto, to be designated
as section 158o, providing for the purchase or condemna-
tion of a City Wharf, etc."

CHAPTER 543.

AN ACT to provide for the use of voting machines in primary
and general elections in not more than three precincts of
Baltimore City, prescribing penalties for the obstruction of
the exercise of the election franchise by use of said machines
or the interference with a correct return of the vote cast
and prescribing penalties for the violation of the rules and
regulations provided by the Board of Election Super-
visors of Baltimore City for the use of voting machines and
authorizing the purchase by said Board of Election Super-
visors of three voting machines.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the Board of Election Supervisors of Baltimore
City be and they are hereby authorized thoroughly to inspect
and examine the construction and operation of any and all
voting machines for the purpose of determining if said
machines are adapted to and properly equipped for the recep-
tion of ballots in primary and general elections and to give a
correct return of same, and if said Boards of Election Super-
visors shall be satisfied that said voting machines are adapted
to the purposes aforesaid, they, the said Board of Election
Supervisors, are further authorized to use said voting machines
in primary and general elections in not more than three of
Baltimore City, said precincts to be selected and designated by
said Board of Election Supervisors, all the members agreeing;
and they shall make such arrangements, and provide such rules
and regulations for the use of said machines in said elections
as to them may seem necessary, and all elections conducted
through the medium of and in the manner provided by said
voting machines shall have the same validity and legality as
