SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 535.
AN ACT making an appropriation for the purpose of aiding
the Maryland State Committee, created April 27th, 1911,
by Hon. Austin L. Crothers, the then Governor of Maryland,
to co-operate with the Federal Committee on organization
in planning and preparing the exhibition of the Fifteenth
International Congress on Hygiene and Demography, to be
held at Washington, D. G., September 23-28th, 1912, to
show the recent progress of the Public Health Movement in
Continental America and the Dependencies of the United
States.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the sum of fifteen hundred dollars, or so much
thereof as may be necessary, be and the same is hereby appro-
priated out of any moneys in the Treasury not otherwise appro-
priated for the purpose of aiding the Maryland State Com-
mittee created April 27th, 1911, by Hon. Austin L. Crothers,
the then Governor of Maryland, to co-operate with the Federal
Committee on Organization in planning and preparing the
exhibition of The Fifteenth International Congress on Hygiene
and Demography, to be held at Washington, D. C., September
23-28th, 1912, to show the recent progress of the Public Health
Movement in Continental America and the dependencies of the
United States; the said amount to be expended under the
orders of the Governor of the State, and the Comptroller of
the Treasury is hereby authorized and directed to issue his
warrant upon the Treasurer for such amounts and payable to
such person or persons as the Governor of this State may from
time to time require and direct in writing as necessary to
carry out the purposes of this act, not exceeding, however, said
sum of fifteen hundred dollars.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.
