SEC. 3. Be it enacted, That the Mayor and City Council
of Baltimore be and they are hereby authorized and directed
to appropriate annually the amount necessary to pay the above
pension.

SEC. 4. Be it enacted, That this act shall take effect on
May 1st, 1912.

CHAPTER 530.

AN ACT to authorize and empower the County Commissioners
of Washington county, Maryland, to build, construct and
repair bridges in said county without the necessity of adver-
tising for bids therefor, when the amount involved does not
exceed the sum of five hundred dollars.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the County Commissioners of Washington County
be and they are hereby authorized and empowered to build,
construct and repair bridges in said county without the neces-
sity of advertising for bids therefor, when the amount involved
does not exceed the sum of five hundred dollars.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 531.

AN ACT to pay the Sisters of Charity of St. Joseph's a sum of
money for State taxes paid by them into the Treasury erron-
eously.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the Treasurer, upon the warrant of the Comptroller
be and he is hereby authorized and directed to pay to the Sisters
of Charity of Saint Joseph's, the sum of one hundred and
eighty-nine dollars and twenty cents, the same having been
erroneously paid by them into the Treasury and certified as
paid on property unlawfully assessed, and its repayment being
recommended by the Comptroller of the Treasury.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.
