25 of the Code of Public General Laws of 1904, title "County
Commissioners," and all other laws so far as said sections
and laws may be inconsistent with the provisions of this act;
and to re-enact said sections 267 to 2Y9, inclusive, with
amendments; and to add to said Article 10, title and sub-
title as aforesaid, four new and additional sections thereto,
to follow immediately after section 279, and to be known as
sections 270A, 279B, 279C and 279D; to apply to Dorchester
county and to create the office of County Road Engineer for
said county, and to prescribe the duties and powers thereof,
and to read as follows:

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That sections 267 to 279, both inclusive, of Article ten of
the Code of Public Local Laws, title "Dorchester County," sub-
title "Roads," and sections 1 and 2 of Article 25 of the Code
of Public General Laws of 1904, title "County Commission-
ers," and all other laws so far as said sections and laws may
be inconsistent with the provisions of this act, be and the same
are hereby repealed; and to re-enact sections 267 to 279, inclu-
sive, with amendments; and to add to said Article 10, title
and sub-title as aforesaid, four new and additional sections
thereto, to follow immediately after section 279, and to be
known as sections 279A, 279B, 279C and 279D, all of said
sections 267, 268, 269, 270, 27l, 272, 273, 274, 275, 276,
277, 278, 279, 279A, 279B, 279C and 279D, be and the same
are hereby enacted as sections of Article ten of the Code of
Public Local Laws, title "Dorchester County," sub-title
"Roads," and to apply to Dorchester county, and to create the
office of County Road Engineer for said county, and prescribe
the duties and powers thereof, and to read as follows:

SEC. 267. The County Commissioners of Dorchester County
are authorized and empowered to control and regulate the pub-
lic roads and bridges in said county, subject to the provisions
of this act.

SEC. 268. The County Commissioners of Dorchester County
shall, at the time of making their annual levy, levy upon the
taxable property of said county a tax not less than twenty
cents on the one hundred dollars, which shall be used for the
repair and reconstruction of public roads and bridges in said
county, which taxes shall be levied and collected as other taxes.
The County Commissioners may levy and appropriate such
other sum or sums of money as they may deem requisite for the
