Laws of Prince George's county, providing for the selection,
drawing and summoning of jurors for said county.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That section 177A of the Code of Public Local Laws, title
"Prince George's County," sub-title "Jurors," as enacted by
Chapter 560 of the Acts of 1904, be and the same is hereby
repealed.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That section 178 of Arti-
cle 17 of the Code of Public Local Laws, title "Prince George's
County," as amended by Chapter 560 of the Acts of 1904, be
and the same is hereby repealed, and re-enacted with amend-
ments, and that section 179 of Article 17 of the Code of Public
Local Laws, title "Prince George's County," sub-title "Jurors,"
be and the same is hereby repealed and re-enacted with amend-
ments, so that said sections shall read as follows:
SEC. 178. That in Prince George's county there shall be
procured by the Clerk of the Circuit Court of said county a
jury box of convenient size, which shall be divided into as many
compartments as there may from time to time be election dis-
tricts in said county, and which compartments shall be num-
bered to correspond with the election districts of the county as
they now exist or may be increased or decreased from time to
time; that when the names of the persons shall have been
selected to serve as jurors by the judge or judges of the Court
in the manner prescribed in Article 51 of the Code of Public
General Laws, title "Jurors," the judge or judges may before
the convening of the term of Court to which said jurors are to
be summoned, of the names so selected choose and appoint one
who shall be foreman of the grand jury, and shall cause all the
names selected, except the name of the foreman previously
chosen, to be placed by said judge or judges in said compart-
ments of said box respectively which bear the numbers of the
districts where the persons so selected respectively reside. And
it shall be the duty of the said judge or judges, when selecting
the panel of two hundred persons as provided for in section
7 of Article 51 of the Code of Public General Laws, to dis-
tribute the names of the persons on said panel as nearly equal
as may be possible among said compartments. And the judge
or judges, in addition to the foreman so selected, shall draw
from said compartments in all seventy-two names. And from
all of said compartments an equal number of names as near as
possible. Provided, that if the foreman so selected should die
or for any cause should be disqualified or be excused by the
Court, the said judge or judges, after drawing another name
