cost of transportation of such person carried or conveyed by
him to or from the place above mentioned; authorized bill for
such expenses in all such cases shall be presented under oath to
said County Commissioners.
214A. The sheriff of Anne Arundel county shall collect all
fees and charges in criminal cases which he may be entitled to
by law, and exercise all powers conferred upon him by law to
enforce the collection of the same, and shall at the first meet-
ing of the County Commissioners held in the months of March,
June, September and December, make a report of the same
under oath in such forms as said County Commissioners may
direct, and pay over the fund upon order of said County Com-
missioners, and whenever any sheriff shall retire from office
leaving Uncollected any costs, fees or charges in criminal cases
lawfully payable to him, it shall be the duty of his successor to
collect and pay over the same; and it shall be the duty of the
sheriff to keep in his office, in a proper book for the purpose,
an official record of the fees and charges to be collected by him
and those which have been so collected, which books shall
remain in his office after the expiration of his term for the use
of his successor.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 24.
AN ACT to authorize the Mayor and City Council of Baltimore
to borrow money temporarily for the purpose of paying the
expenses of making sewer connections to preserve the sani-
tary condition of the city under Ordinance No. 58 of the
Mayor and City Council of Baltimore, approved December
28,1911, and to pledge as security therefor the obligations of
property owners to the city under said ordinance.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That for the purpose of preserving the sanitary condition
of the city the Mayor and City Council of Baltimore be and it is
hereby authorized to borrow money temporarily up to such an
amount as may be necessary not exceeding the amount of the
obligations or indebtedness of property owners to it, under the
provisions of Ordinance No. 58, approved December 28, 1911,
for the purpose of providing the City Engineer with the neces-
sary funds to make the sewer connections and do the other work
