PHILLIPS LEE GOLDSBOROUGH, ESQ., GOVERNOR. 605

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the Governor be and he is hereby directed to com-
mission such persons, not exceeding two, who may be desig-
nated to him by the board of managers of Springfield State
Hospital, or as may be selected by him for the preservation
of peace and good order on and about the lands and buildings
of the said Springfield State Hospital. The pay of said police-
men to be made by the board of managers of said Springfield
State Hospital and to be paid from the funds appropriated or
belonging to said institution and such policemen shall be
appointed and commissioned by the Governor and in every
respect be subject to the provisions of sections 403, 404 and 405
of Article 23 of the Code of Public General Laws of Maryland
of 1904, title "Corporations," sub-title "Police."

CHAPTER 431.

AN ACT to refund to Caleb C. Magruder, clerk of the Court of
Appeals, money overpaid by him for the expenses of his
office in excess of the amount appropriated as a contingent
fund therefor.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the Comptroller of the Treasury of the State of
Maryland be and he is hereby authorized, empowered and
directed to issue his warrant upon the Treasurer of said State,
in favor of Caleb C. Magruder, clerk of the Court of Appeals,
for the sum of seven hundred and eighty-six dollars and seventy-
four cents ($786.74), money overpaid by him for the necessary
expenses of his office in the last two years, in excess of the
annual appropriation therefor provided by Article 17, section
43 of the Code of Public General Laws of 1904.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 432.

AN ACT to declare the sanction and consent of the General
Assembly of Maryland to the following bequests contained in
the last will and testament of Mary A. Reynolds, late of
Washington county, deceased, to wit:
