where jury trial is waived they may try and determine all
such cases and pronounce judgment and sentence therein, and
they shall have power to approve the sureties of any recog-
nizance entered into upon appeal from their decision.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That all acts or parts of
acts inconsistent herewith are hereby repealed.
SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 224.
AN ACT to authorize and direct the State Roads Commission
to pay David E. Walsh, of Carroll county, for the actual
cost of construction of the State Road Contract No. 0201,
one and twenty-one one hundredth miles in length, from
Westminster to Cranberry in said county, out of the State
Road Fund allotted to Carroll county under Chapter 480 of
the Acts of the General Assembly of Maryland of 1908.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments sections 25,
25A and 25c of Article 19 of the Code of Public Local Laws,
title "St. Mary's County," sub-title "County Treasurer," as
amended by Chapter 346 of the Acts of the General Assem-
bly of 1902, and Chapter 752 of the Acts of the General
Assembly of 1906.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That sections 25, 25A and 25c of Article 19 of the Code
of Public Local Laws, title "St. Mary's County," sub-title
"County Treasurer," as _ amended by Chapter 346 of the Acts
of the General Assembly of 1902, and Chapter 752 of the Acts
of the General Assembly of 1906, be and the same are hereby
repealed and re-enacted with amendments, to read as follows:
25. At the general election held on the first Tuesday after
the first Monday in November every second year, accounting
from the year 1901, there shall be elected a county treasurer
for St. Mary's county by the qualified voters of said county, who
shall hold his office for two years, and until his successor is
