are appointed, and shall from their own number appoint a
president, three vice-presidents and a treasurer, who shall serve
until their successors are appointed. The managers shall have
power to appoint such other officers and agents as they may
think proper, and to fill all vacancies in their number until the
next annual election.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That every person who shall
have contributed within the fiscal year to the fund of the society
not less than five dollars ($5.00), not less than thirty (30)
days preceding the annual election, shall be considered a mem-
ber of the society, and shall be entitled to vote for the man-
agers. The members of the society shall have power to deter-
mine what number of managers shall constitute a quorum, and
twenty (20) members of the society shall constitute a quorum
at all meetings of the society.

SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That the said society is hereby
authorized to conduct such other charitable or benevolent work
among the parents of minor children as it may deem advisable
for the benefit and advantage of such minor children; and shall
have power to consolidate with any other charitable or benevo-
lent associations which have been or shall be organized for the
purpose of carrying on, in whole or in part, any kind of charit-
able or benevolent work of the same or a similar nature; and
the provision of section 64 of Chapter 240 of the Acts of 1908,
of the General Assembly of Maryland, known as the "New
Corporation Law," shall be applicable to such consolidation.

SEC. 5. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 183.

AN ACT to repeal sections 43, 43A, 43B, 43C, 43D, 43E and 43F
of the Public Local Laws of Maryland, title "Allegany
County," sub-title "County Treasurer and Taxes," as enacted
by Chapter 115 of the Acts of 1910, and re-enact said sec-
tions with amendments under the title "County Treasurer
and Taxes," and to amend the same under the title "County
Treasurer and Taxes" by re-enacting said sections to be
known as sections 43, 43A, 43B, 43C, 43D, 43E and 43F.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That sections 43, 43A, 43B, 43C, 43D, 43E and 43F of
