the use and expenditure of the fund received from said bond
issue for the purpose of providing for and improving the side-
walks, roads and streets and a system of sewerage for Betterton.
And the Commissioners of Betterton are hereby authorized to
fill any vacancy in said special commission.

SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That a special election to be
called by the Commissioners of Betterton at such time as they
may think proper, but not later than the next regular election
for Commissioners of Betterton, which said election shall in
all particulars not herein provided for, be held under the super-
vision and direction of the Commissioners of Betterton, there
shall be submitted to the qualified taxpaying voters of Better-
ton the question whether the said money shall be borrowed and
said bonds issued, and at such special election the ballots cast
shall have the words "For Street, Roads and Sewerage Bonds"
or "Against Street, Roads and Sewerage Bonds," thereon, and
if a majority of the votes cast upon the question shall be "For
Street, Roads and Sewerage Bonds" then the Commissioners
of Betterton, or a majority of them, shall proceed to execute
the powers vested in them by this act, but if the majority of the
votes cast shall be "Against Street, Roads and Sewerage Bonds,"
then they shall not execute such powers and this act shall be of
no effect.

SEC. 5. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 175.

WHEREAS, The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania by an act
approved May 13th, 1909, passed a resolution looking to the
celebration of the fiftieth anniversary of the Battle of Gettys-
burg and inviting the various States of the Union to join in
said celebration; and,

WHEREAS, The States of Virginia, North Carolina, South Caro-
lina, Georgia, Mississippi, New York, New Jersey, Wiscon-
sin, Vermont, Massachusetts and other States, through their
Legislature, have already taken favorable action; therefore,.

SECTION 1. Be it resolved by the Senate and House of Dele-
gates of the General Assembly of the State of Maryland, That
the invitation of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania to
