268 LAWS OF MARYLAND. [Ch. 128]

CHAPTER 128.

AN ACT to repeal sections 257, 258, 259, 260, 261, 262, 262A,
262B, 262C, 262D, 262E, 262F, 262G, 262H, 262I, 262J,
262K, 262L, 262M, 262N, 262O, 262P, 262Q, 262R, 262S,
262T, 262U, 262V, 262W and 262X of the Code of Public
Local Laws of the State of Maryland, title "Harford
County," sub-title "Taxes and County Treasurer," as enacted
by Chapter 468 1/2 of the Acts of 1906, and also Chapter 472
of the Acts of 1910, entitled "An Act to repeal section 262C
of the Code of the Public Local Laws, title "Harford
County," sub-title "Taxes and County Treasurer," and to
re-enact the same with amendments.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land; That sections 257, 258, 259, 260, 261, 262, 262A, 262B,
262C, 262D, 262E, 262F, 262G, 262H, 262I, 262J, 262K, 262L,
262M, 262N, 262O, 262P, 262Q, 262R, 262S, 262T, 262U, 262V,
262W and 262X of the Code of Public Local Laws of the State
of Maryland, title "Harford County," sub-title "Taxes and
County Treasurer," as enacted by the Acts of 1906, Chapter
46'8l/2; and also Chapter 472 of the Acts of 1910, entitled "An
Act to repeal section 262C of the Code of Public Local Laws,
title "Harford County," sub-title "Taxes and County Treas-
urer," be and the same are hereby repealed and re-enacted, so
as to read as follows:

257. The Treasurer of Harford county now in office shall
hold his office until the first day of May, 1914, and unless he
shall die or otherwise vacate his office, his successor shall be
elected at the general election in 1913.

258. The Treasurer of Harford county shall be a resident
and qualified voter of said county, and not less than twenty-five
years of age on the date of his election; he shall be elected at
the general election held in said county, and shall hold his
office for a tenn of four years from the first day of May next
succeeding the date of his election.

259. If the person elected shall fail to qualify or to execute
the bonds or either of them required by the succeeding sections,
or in the event of the Treasurer's removal from the county,
death, resignation or removal from office, the County Commis-
sioners shall declare said office vacant, and at once proceed to
fill the same by the appointment of a person possessing the
qualifications required by this act, who shall qualify and bond
within such time as the commissioners may direct, and who
