the better preservation of public health, by adding certain addi-
tional sections to Article 43 of the Code of Public General
Laws, title "Health," sub-title "Infectious Diseases," said sec-
tions to immediately after section 55 of said Article 43 and to
be designated as sections 55A, 55B, 55C, 55D, 55E, 55F, 55G,
55H, 55I, 55J, 55K, 55L, 55M, 55N, 55O, be and the same is
hereby repealed.

CHAPTER 95.

AN ACT to authorize and empower the Mayor and Council of
Hagerstown, Maryland, to acquire, by purchase or condemna-
tion, a lot of ground and all property rights therein, known
as the "Oak Spring Lot," situated on the south side of West
Franklin street, between Potomac and Jonathan streets, in
Hagerstown, Maryland, for municipal purposes, and to pro-
vide for the payment therefor.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the Mayor and Council of Hagerstown, Maryland, a
corporation existing by virtue of an act of the General Assembly
of Maryland, be and it is hereby authorized and empowered to
acquire, by purchase or condemnation, in manner and form as
hereinafter provided in this act, a lot of ground commonly
known as the "Oak Spring Lot," and all property rights therein,
situated on the southeast corner of West Franklin street, in
Hagerstown, Maryland, and a public alley running from West
Washington street to West Franklin street and commonly known
as the "Baldwin House Alley," for the erection thereon of a
building for housing apparatus for fire protection or any other
municipal purposes for which said building may be designed.
And the Mayor and Council of Hagerstown are further author-
ized and empowered to do any and all other things enumerated
in this act, and are further authorized and empowered to do all
other things which may be incidental to or a necessary conse-
quence of the power and authority conferred upon the said
Mayor and Council of Hagerstown by the terms of this act.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the Mayor and Council of
Hagerstown shall have the right and authority to purchase said
lot of ground described in section 1 and all property fights
therein from the owner or owners of said property and prop-
erty rights, if it can be definitely, accurately and positively
