PHILLIPS LEE GOLDSBOROUGH, EISQ., GOVERNOR. 1381

Agusta Hutton; thence with a straight line across the Laytons-
ville road, Metropolitan Branch Railroad, the lands of the said
Mary Agusta Hutton and Georgetown and Frederick road, to a
stone planted on the land of Ignatius T. Fulks; thence with a
straight line across the lands of the said Ignatius T. Fulks.
Philemon M. Smith and Fitzgerald road, and the lands formerly
belonging to Martha A. Meem, to a stone planted on the land
formerly belonging to Henry C. Ward; thence with a straight
line across the land formerly belonging to the said Henry C.
Ward, the Metropolitan Branch Railroad, the lands formerly
belonging to the said Martha A. Meem, David M. Monro, the
Georgetown, and Frederick road, to the dividing line between
Tgnatius T. Fulks and James O. Rabbit; thence with said

dividing line to the beginning, as shown by the plat on file in
the clerk's office of said county in Plat Book No. 1. Plat No. 6.

209. The residents of said town being qualified voters under
the laws of this State, and who have resided in said town for
three months previous to any election shall, on the first Mon-
day in May next and every two years thereafter on the same

day, elect one person, at least thirty (30) years of age, Mayor
of said town, and four persons, not less than twenty-five (25)
years of age, who, together with the Mayor, shall constitute
the council, and all of whom shall have resided in the town

at least one year previous to their election, and be legal voters
and taxpayers therein, and shall so continue during their term
of office. They shall receive no pay for their services, except
the Mayor, who shall receive the fees hereinafter allowed; and
they shall serve for two years from the first Monday in June
ensuing.

210. Elections shall be conducted by three judges appointed
by the Mayor and council and shall be held at some convenient:
place to be designated by the council; and the judges shall
appoint a clerk of elections; the poles shall be opened at 12
M. and closed at 7 P. M., when the ballots shall be carefully
counted, and on the result appearing, certificates of election
shall be granted by the judges to the Mayor and council so
elected, and a report of the same shall be filed with the Mayor
and Council, who shall have the same recorded among the town
records.

211. The council shall select some suitable public place
and designate same as their regular place of meeting, and shall
meet therein the first Monday in June next succeeding their
