SEC. 4.
And be it further enacted, That this act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 731.
AN ACT to revise the child labor laws of this State by repealing
section 4 of Article 100 of the Code of Public General Laws
of Maryland, title "Work, Hours of, in Factories," as
repealed and re-enacted with amendments by Chapter 192
of the Acts of the General Assembly of Maryland for 1906,
and by repealing sections 5 to 12, both inclusive, of said
Article 100, as enacted by Chapter 192 of the Acts of the
General Assembly of Maryland for 1906, and by repealing
section 4 of said Chapter 192 of the Acts of the General
Assembly of Maryland for 1906, and by enacting in lieu of
said sections so repealed 47 new sections of said Article 100,
to be known as sections 4 to ,50, both inclusive, of said Arti-
cle 100, title "Work, Hours of, in Factories," sub-title
"Employment of Minors," said new sections so enacted pro-
viding regulations for the employment of minors, establish-
ing a system of employment certificates, providing for enforce-
ment of said regulations and appropriating money therefor.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That section 4 of Article 100 of the Code of Public .Gen-
eral Laws of Maryland, title "Work, Hours of, in Factories,"
as repealed and re-enacted with amendments by Chapter 192
of the Acts of the General Assembly of Maryland for 1906,
and sections 5 to 12, both inclusive, of said Article 100, as
enacted by Chapter 192 of the Acts of the General Assembly
of Maryland for 1906, and section 4 of said Chapter 192 of
the Acts of the General Assembly of Maryland for 1906, be
and the same are hereby repealed, and that in lieu of said sec-
tions so repealed the following 47 new sections, to be known as
sections 4 to 50, both inclusive, of said Article 100, title "Work,
Hours of, in Factories," sub-title "Employment of Minors,"
be and they are hereby enacted, to read as follows:
4. No child under 14 years of age shall be employed, per-
mitted or suffered to work in, about, or in connection with any
mill, factory, workshop, mechanical establishment, tenement
