ceding the election, and assessed upon the assessment books of
the said town for not less than one hundred dollars, and shall
have paid taxes thereon for not less than one year previous to
his election, and shall hold their office for two years and until
the qualifications of their successors, and the said Councilmen
shall each receive one dollar for each regular and special meet-
ing they attend.

Elections.

SEC. 196. All male citizens of the United States above
the age of twenty-one years who shall have actually resided in
the said town of Laurel not less than one year preceding an
election for Mayor and City Councilmen of said town, and
whose names shall appear upon the books of registered voters
as hereinafter provided, shall be qualified voters of said town,
and as such shall be entitled to vote at any election held under
the provisions of this act.

And the said qualified voters shall on the third Monday in
April, 1912, and every two years thereafter, at such centrally
located place within the said town of Laurel, as the Board of
Election Supervisors, hereinafter provided for, shall designate,
vote for one person as Mayor of the said town of Laurel,
to serve for two years from the fourth Monday in April, 1912,
and until the qualifications of his successor; and the said
voters shall also on the said third Monday in April, 1912, and
every two years thereafter, vote for five persons as members of
the City Council of Laurel, to serve for two years and until
their successors shall, have qualified, two of whom shall be
chosen from the said town at large, but both of whom shall not
come from any one ward, and one from each of the three wards
in said town, the representatives of the wards to be domiciled
in the ward each shall be chosen to represent.

SEC. 197. And the Mayor of the said town shall on the
second Monday in March, 1912, and thereafter biennially on
the second Monday in March, by and with the advice and con-
sent of the City Council, appoint two qualified voters of the
said town, not holding any office under the government of the
said town, and who shall constitute the Board of Election
Supervisors of said town, and who shall act as judges of elec-
tion, to serve for two years and until their successors shall
have qualified. And on the second Monday in March, 1912,
and thereafter biennially on the second Monday in March, the
Mayor and City Council shall in like manner appoint two
additional persons to act with the said Supervisors of Elections
as judges of election, and two other persons to act as clerks of
