only on the order of the committing justice, the judge of the
Circuit Court for Dorchester county, or one of the members of
the board, or other lawful process.

60J. Nothing in this sub-division of this article shall be so
construed as to destroy or diminish the liability or responsibil-
ity of the commissioners of Cambrd'ge for any failure to dis-
charge the duties and obligations of said commissioners of
Cambridge, or any of them, or give the said commissioners of
Cambridge any control over said board, or any officer of police
or policeman appointed thereby.

60K. The said board of police commissioners are author-
ized, empowered and directed to grant leave of absence with
pay for a period of fifteen days in each consecutive year of
service to each of the officers of police and policemen of the
regular force employed by said board; nor shall any enforced
absence with leave on account of sickness or death, be deducted
from the pay of any such officer or police or policeman, or from
the fifteen days' leave as herein provided for.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That nothing in this act shall
be so construed as to affect the present term of office' of the
commissioners of Cambridge elected at the last town election
held in June, 1910, or the term or tenure of office of any of
the officers or employees appointed by said commissioners, but
each of said commissioners shall hold office under this act, and
have and exercise all the rights, powers, duties and preroga-
tives vested in and conferred upon the commissioners of Cam-
bridge by this act, except where the same are inconsistent with
their present tenure of office, until the third Wednesday of
July, 1912, or until their successors are duly elected at the next
town election held under this act and duly qualified; and the
town clerk and treasurer, collector, attorney, bailiff and all
officers, appointees and employees appointed by the present
commissioners and holding office under such appointment at
the time this act goes into effect shall hold office under this act,
and have and exercise all the rights, powers and prerogatives,
receive the compensation and be subject to all the requirements,
duties and restrictions, which they respectively had received,
enjoyed or were subject to prior to the passage of this act; and
especially shall this act not be construed so as to interfere with
the rights, powers or duties of the collector of town taxes to
collect and enforce in accordance with all the provisions of law,
the collection of any and all taxes levied and uncollected at the
time of the enactment of this act, but said collector shall have
and be vested with all the rights and powers now conferred
