The second USS Maryland

The second USS Maryland appeared at the start of the 20th century, during the
period between the Spanish-American War and World War I.

Commissioned in 1905, she served in both the Atlantic and Pacific fleets
and was later renamed Frederick so the name Maryland could be used
for a newly authorized battleship. The former Maryland convoyed troops
during World War I and transported them home after the Armistice was
signed on November 11, 1918. She was decommissioned in the early 1920s.
