sociation about the changes in the
sales tax on food.
8:10 p.m. - Bill Turner tells the Con-
crete Pumpers' Association about fuel
tax provisions that apply to them.
9:00 P.M.
9:12 p.m. - Jean McGreevy rings the
bell at the comptroller's State Fair
booth, indicating another visitor has
found unclaimed money. The State
Fair booth is an outreach effort to lo-
cate rightful owners of unclaimed
funds.
9:25 p.m. (8:25 p.m. Central Time) -
Donald Young and Elizabeth Turco are
in the middle of a five-hour drive from
San Antonio to Houston, Texas, dur-
ing a two-week sales and use tax au-
dit trip.
10:00 P.M.
10:05 p.m. - Linda Bunger and Dinah
Kolar check into the Marriott in Trum-
bull, Connecticut, to begin a high rev-
enue sales and use tax audit in the
area the next day.
10:20 p.m. - James Waters, one of
the Baltimore Data Center's computer
operators, prints food stamp authori-
zation cards for the Department of Hu-
man Resources.
11:00 P.M.
11:00 p.m. - Roland Gilmer, a com-
puter operator in the Annapolis Data
Center, prints checks totaling $3.9
million for the contractual employee
payroll.
11:15 p.m. - John Lukaszczyk is
called in to the Baltimore Data Center
to correct a damaged mass storage
cartridge that was holding up Health
Department jobs.
11:30 p.m.- Gloria Liberty punches in
for the third shift at the Annapolis
Data Center. Both of the State Comp-
troller's data centers operate 24 hours
a day, seven days a week.
The comptroller's two data centers operate around the clock
supporting the state's financial operation as well as the data
processing needs of many other state agencies.

12:03 a.m. (11:03 p.m. Central Time)
- Marge Barden puts away her porta-
ble personal computer after working
on a sales and use tax audit file in her
Indianapolis, Indiana, motel room.
1:00 A.M.
1:07 a.m. - Alcohol and Tobacco Tax
Enforcement Agent John Horney sets
up surveillance on an after hours club
in Baltimore City. The unlicensed
clubs open when licensed bars and
clubs are closing and sell illegally pro-
cured liquor.
2:00 A.M.
2:00 a.m. - Teresa Anderson prints
the most recent batch of motor carrier
tax registration certificates during her
shift at the Annapolis Data Center.
2:15 a.m. (11:15 p.m. Pacific Time) -
Rosemary Droneburg and two other
Motor Vehicle Fuel Tax auditors climb
aboard a "red eye" flight back to Bal-
timore after completing a three-week
audit in Oakland, California.
3:00 A. M.
3:13 a.m. - Ronnie Dadds takes her
third shift lunch break, while Walter
Dean heads for the canteen in the An-
napolis Data Center building.
