Bartley Collection
Many historic homes and furnishings in Maryland's
355-year history have become the stuff of legends,
especially on the Eastern Shore where one Talbot County
company helps those legends come to life piece by piece.
As one of the oldest and largest manufacturers of
museum-quality reproduction furniture kits in America, the
Bartley Collection in Easton provides over 200 oppor-
tunities for collectors to build and preserve a symbol of
18th century life — from the simple elegance of a candle-
stand to the intricately carved Queen Anne highboy.

Gordon Douglass Boats
For over 32 years, Gordon Douglass Boats of Deer Park
in Garrett County has been producing "the all-American
family sailboat." Designed by champion sailor Gordon
Douglass, the 19-foot Flying Scot charts a unique course
in Maryland maritime heritage as one of the few sailboats
geared to novices enjoying the Chesapeake Bay, Deep
Creek Lake and other water playgrounds. (Photo courtesy
