Aerolab

From the first manned balloon flight in America to the
feats of Glenn L. Martin and Robert Goddard, key
chapters in American aviation history were written in
Maryland — and Aerolab of Prince George's County con-
tinues to add foundation to the text and footnotes. The
Laurel-based company has been building wind tunnels
for aviation experiments for over 40 years in the inter-
national market, helping clients study airspeed, dynamic
pressure, angle of attack and other technical measure-
ments. (Photo courtesy of Aerolab)

Donald Moore Honey

Located at the far tip of a St. Mary's County peninsula,
Donald Moore of Colton's Point joins nearly 3,000 other
Maryland beekeepers helping the honey bee produce the
delicious food enjoyed by State Comptroller Louis L.
Goldstein and many other honey lovers. Maryland's
13,000 bee colonies are also vital for the success of
apples, cherries, watermelons, pumpkins and a host of
other agricultural products in Maryland. (Photo courtesy

Ag-lnd Equipment

From ancient Indian planting grounds to the lure of "King
Tobacco" to 18th century farms feeding colonial troops
and earning the state's title as "Breadbasket of the
American Revolution," agriculture in Maryland enjoys
roots that stretch back over three and a half centuries.
In today's changing world of agribusiness, Cecil County's
Ag-lnd Equipment Company specializes in providing
forage and hay equipment for customers in southeast
Pennsylvania, southern New Jersey and northeast
Maryland. One of the Rising Sun outfit's prized pieces
is the second largest forage harvester built by New
Holland. (Photo courtesy of Ag-lnd Equipment)

H. L. Frey Corporation

H. L. Frey Corporation of Baltimore County is another firm
with important links to Maryland's high-tech future. Since
1974, the Towson-based manufacturer representative has
specialized in support equipment for computer rooms
throughout the eastern United States, maintaining close
affiliation with Airflow Company in Frederick County.
