INTRODUCTION

This Supplemental Volume contains selected detailed financial data for the Fiscal Year 1987 which is presented
on the basis of accounting used for budgetary reporting.

The Annual Report of the Comptroller of the Treasury of Maryland is contained in a separate volume. That
volume contains the Financial Statements of the State of Maryland for the Fiscal Year 1987 prepared in
conformity with generally accepted accounting principles and certain other financial data in compliance with
Title 2, Section 102 of the State Finance and Procurement Article of the Annotated Code of Maryland. The
Financial Statement Volume also contains a reconciliation of the budgetary general fund balance shown in this
Supplemental Volume to the balance presented in the general purpose financial statements.
