THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF MARYLAND:
In compliance with the provisions of Section 9 of Article 19
of the Annotated Code of Maryland, I submit herewith a report of
the fiscal activities of the State for the year ended June 30, 1956.
While the report follows the form in which preceding reports
have been prepared, and it has been our endeavor to include in the
report complete information as to all of the revenues and disburse-
ments, I am giving you in this letter of transmittal the highlights
of our fiscal picture, in order that you might have in summary form
the figures around which our financial situation revolves.
