Report of the State Appeal Board for the Fiscal Year

HONORABLE SIR:

We herewith submit a report of cases heard and decisions rendered by the State Appeal Board
under the Alcoholic Beverages Laws for the fiscal year beginning July 1st, 1954, and ending June
30th, 1955.

In Somerset and Worcester Counties the Board acts as hearing officers. The decisions are sub-
ject to appeal to the Circuit Court of these counties. Four appeals were taken from the decisions of
this Board; one to the Circuit Court of Worcester County, and three to the Circuit Court of Somerset
County during the past fiscal year.

Bi-monthly meetings are held by The State Appeal Board to render decisions in cases heard; to
discuss pending cases; to set cases for re-hearing so as to afford parties an opportunity to present
additional evidence, etc.; and, where appropriate, to arrange for personal inspection of licensed premises
or of premises proposed to be licensed.
