OF THE
COMPTROLLER OF THE TREASURY
OF THE
STATE OF MARYLAND
December 10, 1926.
To THE HONORABLE,
THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF MARYLAND.
In compliance with Section 9 of Article 19 of the Annotated
Code of Maryland I submit herewith my report for the fiscal year
ending September 30th, 1926. This report has been prepared along
the same lines as the reports submitted for the last few years and
contains an accurate and true statement of conditions. We have

complete details are contained in our records and are available to
you at all times. Many of these were omitted to save space and
expense.

receipts by months for the years 1924 and 1925 from the motor
vehicle fuel tax, the amounts of refunds made under this law, and
the net balance, of which Baltimore City receives 20% and the
State Roads Commission 80%; also a statement showing the ex-
penditures out of the amount allowed by the Act for the adminis-
tration of this account. The statement showing receipts from the
motor vehicle fuel tax is set up on the basis of the calendar year,
as it is more useful in that shape for purposes of comparison with
similar information of other States. The books of our office, how-
ever, show this information available on the fiscal year basis.
The report of Frank P. Bratten, Chief Inspector of State Licenses,
