LICENSES, ETC.
The accompanying tables from Nos. 1 to 11, both inclu-
sive, show the various receipts into the Treasury from all
sources during the fiscal year.
The receipts from Clerks of Courts and other officers as
shown in Table No. 1,amounted to $898,323.91, an increase
over 1892 of 12,938.35.
And from Registers of Wills (Table No. 2) the sum of
$126,264.29, being 147,120.09 less than for the previous year.
This decrease may be accounted for by the operation of the
Act of 1892, Chapter 564, allowing the Registers of Wills to
retain one-fourth of the gross receipts from tax on collateral
inheritances, and from tax on commissions of executors and
administrators.
The receipts from Collectors of taxes in the several
Counties and the City of Baltimore, as shown in detail in
Table No. 3, aggregated $892,310.16, .being greater than the
amount collected for 1892 by 190,814,41.
The receipts from tax on the gross receipts from Rail-
roads and other Corporations, as. shown in Table No. 5,
amounted to $123,025.64, being less than for the previous
year by 19,990.70. The receipts into the Treasury from tax
on the Shares of Capital Stock of Incorporated Institutions
for the fiscal year 1893, given in detail in Table No. 6,
amounted to $107,102,43, an increase over 1892 of 15,828.06.

Table No. 7 will show the receipts and disbursements in
detail.
Table No. 11 shows the receipts into the Treasury from
licenses and tax upon premiums paid by Foreign Insurance
Companies as returned by the Insurance Commissioner,
amounting to $118,862.87, an increase of $5,261.14 over the
amount received from same source during the preceding year.
Tables No. 12 to 17, both inclusive, show the amounts
due to the State, exclusive of interests from Clerks of Courts,
