fees of clerks of courts, and other officers therein named,
amounting in the aggregate to $882,984.13.

" Table No. 2 " shows the receipts of State tax on col-
lateral inheritance, tax on commissions of executors and
administrators, and excess of fees of office of certain Regis-
ters of Wills, amounting in the aggregate to $116,487.03.

"Table No. 3" exhibits in detail the receipts of State
taxes from collectors in the several counties and the city of
Baltimore during the fiscal year 1891, amounting in the
aggregate to $853,722.34.

"Table No. 4" gives in detail the receipts from Auc-
tioneers licenses amounting to $3,100.

" Table No. 5 " shows in detail the receipts from tax on
the gross receipts of railroads and other corporations,
amounting to $115,936.76 an increase over 1890 of

$55, 917. 38.

"Table No. 6" gives the receipts of State tax on Stocks
of State of Maryland and Baltimore City, amounting to
$30,546.37.

" Table No. 7 " gives the receipts from Sate tax on. the
Shares of Capital Stock of Corporations assessed by the
State Tax Commissioner, amounting to $91,088.47, an in-
crease over 1890 of $5,548.63.

STATE TOBACCO INSPECTION

'' Table No. 8 '' shows the receipts and disbursements of
the State Tobacco Warehouses, and the amount received
by the State from State Tobacco Inspections for the fiscal
year 1891. The receipts were in the aggregate $56,060.32,
and disbursements $45,427.17, showing net receipts to the
amount of $10,633.15, which, added to the balance due
September 30, 1890, viz., $4,138.04, make a total of
$14,771.19.

There is a marked improvement in the management of
the Tobacco Warehouses since the Act of 1890, Chapter
262, placed them under three Inspectors instead of five, as
will be seen by the following comparison of the receipts
and disbursements of the years 1888 and 1889 with those
of the years 1890 and 1891 :

Receipts for fiscal years 1888 and 1889.....................$145,782 93

Disbursements for fiscal years 1888 and 1889............ 134,296 37

Balance paid the State for 1888 and 1889.................. $11,486 56

Receipts for fiscal years 1890 and 1891.....................$109,646 19

Disbursements for fiscal years 1890 and 1891........... 88,804 81

Balance paid the State for 1890 and 1891.................. $20,836 38

Excess paid State for 1890 and 1891 over 1888 and 1889. $9,349 82
