During the Fiscal Year 1880, the Treasury Officers pur-
chased for the General Sinking Fund, 3,000£ Sterl-
ing 5 per cent, bonds, which have since been can-
celled, and a certificate for $14,520.00 of Mary-
land State Loan, bearing 6 per cent, interest, has
been issued by them to said Fund in lieu of said
Sterling Bonds, in accordance with the prorisions
of Ch. 276, of 1872, the cost to the General Sinking
