tember 30th, 1870, the sum of $89,006.81, to credit
of the Sinking Fund, from the following sources, viz :

NOTE.—The balance to the credit of the "Sinking Fund," as of 30th Sep-
tember, 1870, $89,006.81, was invested in "Maryland Defence Loan," bearing
interest from July 1st, 1870, at 6 per cent, per annum.
