To THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF MARYLAND :—
In pursuance of the provisions of Section 2, Article VI, of
the Constitution, and of Section 9, Article XXII, Code of Pub-
lic General Laws, I have the honor to respectfully submit this,
my third annual Report of the Condition of the Treasury, at the
close of the last fiscal year.
RECEIPTS.
The total receipts into the Treasury from all sources during
the fiscal year ended September 30th, 1869, was $3,002,090.58,
which sum, added to the balance remaining in the Treasury
September 30th, 1868, viz: $482,551.01, make the aggregate of-
$3,484,641.59. The various sources from which derived, will
more fully appear by reference to Statement "A," in the ap-
pendix to this Report.
DISBURSEMENTS.
-By reference to Statement "B," it will appear that the dis-
bursements during the fiscal year amounted to $3,039,301.18,
and the balance remaining in the Treasury at the close of the
fiscal year, was $445,340.41. The various purposes for which
these disbursements were made will more fully appear by an
examination of this table.
ESTIMATES.
Statement "C" will show the estimated receipts into the
Treasury during the fiscal year which ends September 30,1870,
to be $2,123,650.00.
The probable disbursements during the same period, based
upon existing laws, as exhibited by Statement "D," will amount
to $2,201,450.00; being $77,800 in excess of receipts.
