MAGISTRATES COURTS-

AH writs or other process issued by,

or by justices of, shall be made returna-

ble to the next monthly meeting of said

court, except subpoenas and attachments

for witnesses,

Witnesses shall be allowed thirty -

three and a third cents for each days

attendance,

Each chief judge of, for all his servi-

ces as such shall be entitled to retain out

of the money received by him as herein-

before provided, $3 per day for every

day he shall attend the sitting of said

court,

Each of the other justices of, $2 pel-

day, for each day he attends &c.,

Snail make report to the levy court or

commissioners before the 1st day of June

annually of said attendance, and of the

whole amount of fees by them respective-

ly received,

Said levy court or commissioners may

appropriate the ballance in extra allow-

ance to said justices, or otherwise, at

discretion,

And shall in case of deficiency, levy

upon the county and pay any ballance.

May give judgment against cither

plaintiff or defendant in any case, and

the same proceedings may be had for re-

covery,

In case of vacancy, the executive shall

by appointment supply the same,
