A supplement to an apt, entitled, an act to lay out and
|

make a public Road in Allegany county.
|
 
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
|
Commissioners named
|
Maryland, That Moses Rawlings, George Rizer, and
|
 
|
John J. Hoffman, be, and they are hereby appointed
|
 
|
commissioners, to execute the law to which this is a
|
 
|
supplement.
|
 
|
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the commissioners
|

appointed by this act, are hereby authorized and em-
|

powered under the restrictions and ip the manner pre-

scribed by the aforesaid original act, to extend the
|
 
|
said road from its intersection with the Cresapburgh
|
 
|
road to the nearest and best point of intersection with
|
Route for Canal &c Rail road reserv-

the old national road at or near Cumberland, Provided, 1

|
that this law shall not be so construed as to prevent the
|
 
|
location of any canal or rail road by any company
|
 
|
now authorised, or which may hereafter be authorised
|
 
|
to construct the same, and that any such company as
|
 
|
may wish to occupy the road hereby authorised, or any
|
 
|
part thereof shall first only be required to provide
|

another passable wagon road whensoever it may be
|
 
|
found necessary to occupy the road hereby proposed to
|
 
|
be opened or to reimburse such sums of money as may
|
 
|
be expended in the execution of this law, to those re-
|
 
|
ppectively who may have paid the same, or to such
|
 
|
person or persons as may rightfully claim by, through,
|
 
|
or under them.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That the person or per-
|

sons, applying for said road shall pay or cause to be

paid all and every cost and expense of making and
|
 
|
completing said road.
