SEC. 7. And be it enacted, That both branches of the road constructed by the United States, from the town of Cumberland, to the point at which they intersect shall be considered part of the United States' road, within the State of Maryland, until the new location on part of said road shall be completed, then to apply only to the new location, but that tolls sliall still consti-nue to be charged upon the old road, to which all such and every of the provisions of this act, and the origin- al act to which this is a supplement, shall extend alike, and apply equally as to other parts of the road.

An act to incorporate the Town Hill Mining, Manufacturing and Timber Company.

Preamble

WHEREAS, it has been represented to the General Assembly, that William Carroll, being proprietor of a large tract of land in Allegany county, lying on the Potomac River and the waters of fifteen-mile creek, containing large and valuable bodies of timber of vari-ous and fine discriptions suitable for lumber, and iron ore of different and valuable qualities, is desirous of developing to their full extent the resources of said tract of land, avid for the purpose of being enabled so to do on a more extensive scale, and with a larger amount of capital, proposes to take in other partners at such valuation of the land as may be agreed upon between them, Provided, that the inconveniencies of an unincorporated company, consisting of many partners, can be removed by obtaining from the General Assembly a charter of incorporation; And whereas, it is just and expedient that such facilities should be granted under suitable and wholesome restrictions: — Therefore,
