1835.

LAWS OF MARYLAND.

CHAP. 203.

pointment of three justices, in the same manner and to the same extent as if the same was inserted in the original law.

CHAPTER 203.

Passed Mar. 25, 1836

An act for the relief John P. Robins, and others, citi-

zens of Worcester county.

Preamble

WHEREAS, it is presented to this General Assembly,

That a certain Valentine Dennis, late of Worcester

county, deceased, did by his last will and testament,

devise a certain house and lot in the Town of Snow

Hill, in said county, to his daughter Sarah Dennis,

during her natural life, and after her decease to her

two children, their heirs and assigns forever, and that

a certain John P Robins has purchased the life interest

of the said Sarah Dennis, and the residuary right of

one of her said children, to wit: Sarah, she being of

age, but owing to the minority of the other child of

the said Sarah Dennis, he is unable to procure her in-

terest in said property; And whereas, it is further re-

presented, that an immediate sale of the interest of said

minor in said house and lot, would be greatly to her

advantage, her mother and sister having already dis-

posed of their interests : — Therefore,

Decree of sale of property author

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,

sed

That the judges of Worcester county, sitting as a court

of Equity, shall have full power and authority at

the next term of said Court, after the passage of this

act, upon the petition of the mother or next friend of

the said minor, and on being satisfied by oral testimo-

ny or otherwise, that it will be to her interest and

benefit, to decree the immediate sale of the interest of

the said minor in the Real Estate mentioned in the

preamble to this act, which decree and all the subse-

quent proceedings in the premises shall be according

to the provisions of an act of Assembly passed at

December session eighteen hundred and sixteen, chap-

ter one hundred and fifty-four, and the several supple-

ments thereto.
