LAWS OF MARYLAND.

 

assigns, in case a return of the same shall he adjudged

by the district court before whom the said writ of re-

 

plevin shall he tried, and shall pay all damages and

SEC. 14. And be it enacted, That whenever any

 

person or persons shall be indebted to any other per-

 

son or persons in a sum not exceeding one hundred

 

dollars, and the said creditor or creditors shall make

 

oath or affirmation before any one of the said district

 

justices, that the said debtor or debtors is or are

 

indebted to him, her or them, in the sum of not ex-

 

ceeding one hundred dollars, and that the said debtor

 

or debtors do not reside within the limits of the State

 

of Maryland, or that he, she or they, is or are credi-

 

bly informed and verily believes that the said debtor

or debtors hath or have absconded from his, her or

 

their place of abode, whereby his, her or their credi-

 

tors may be injured or defrauded, and at the same time
