RESOLUTIONS.

1831.

received fifteen hundred dollars for that service, has relin-

 

quished in writing all claim for further remuneration on that

 

account — Therefore,

 

Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That the

 

treasurer of the western shore pay to James D. Woodside,

 

of the city of Washington, or order, the sum of two hun-

 

dred dollars, as a further compensation for his services in

 

elevating the colossal statue of the illustrious Washington to

 

the summit of the monument in the city of Baltimore.

Resolution respecting the State's claims on the government

Passed Mar. 5, 1832

of the United States.

 

Rssolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That

 

the governor and council be, and they are hereby authoris-

 

ed and required to appoint a suitable person to settle and

 

adjust the claims of the state upon the general government,

 

and more particularly for interest on her expenditures in

 

the last war, on account of the United States.

Preamble and Resolution relative to warrants for County

Passed Feb. 28, 1832

Land, &c.

 

WHEREAS, it has been represented to this general assem-

 

bly, that all the land lying to the westward of Fort Cum-

 

berland, in Allegany county, has been patented, and where-

 

as warrants have been granted to sundry officers and sol-
diers of the revolutionary war, confining the location of

 

their warrant to land, lying to the westward of Fort Cum-

 

berland in said county — Therefore,

 

Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That all

 

those officers and soldiers, or their representatives, to whom

 

land warrants have been issued for revolutionary services,

 

and who have not already located the same, be, and they

 

are hereby authorised to locate their several warrants on

 

any vacant land lying in Allegany county, any thing in their
said warrants, or in any law of this state to the contrary,

 

notwithstanding.
