LAWS OF MARYLAND.

CHAP. 273.

a judgment rendered by any other justice^ of the peace in

 

any county in this state, in the same manner as is now the

]

practice on a short copy of a judgment by a single justice of

 

the peace residing in the same county: Provided always, that

 

the said short copy be certified by the clerk of the county

 

court, and the seal of office be thereto annexed.

 

CHAPTER 272.

Passed Mar. 10, 1832

An act for the benefit of Mary Pearce, of Anne Arundel

 

county.

Levy directed.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland", That

 

the commissioners for Anne Arundel county be, andkthey are

 

hereby authorised and required to levy on the assessable

 

property of said county the sum of forty dollars, for the

 

benefit of Mary Pearce of said county, and the collector of

 

said county is hereby authorised and directed to collect and

 

pay over to the said Mary Pearce, or her order, the sum

 

of forty dollars, any law to the contrary notwithstanding.

 

CHAPTER 273.

Passed Mar.12,1832

An act to authorise the executors of the last will and testa-

 

ment of William N. Ritchie, deceased, to bring into the

 

state of Maryland, certain slaves.

Authority to im-

Section 1 . Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-

port,

land, That the executors of the last will and testament of

 

William N. Ritchie,late of Tallahassee, in Florida, be, and

 

they are hereby authorised and empowered to import and

 

bring into this state from Tallahassee, in Florida, the follow-

 

ing named slaves, late the property of said testator, to wit:

 

one negro man named Nicholas, one negro boy named Peter,

 

one negro boy named James, and one negro boy named Hen-

 

ry, and the said slaves when brought into this state to dis-

 

pose of, hire out or sell as by the said will they are direct-

 

ed.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That for the purpose of ena-
