CHAP. 177.

levy on the assessable property of said county, such sum as
may be necessary to defray the expenses thereof.

Passed Mar. 5,1832

A Supplement to the act, to revive and extend the charter of
the Planters Bank of Prince George's County, so as to
enable the Institution gradually to wind up its affairs.

Authorised to re-
ceive stock in pay-
mem.

Section 1 . Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the president and directors of the Planters
Bank of Prince George's County, be and they are hereby
authorised and empowered to take and receive the stock of
that institution, in payment for any debt or debts that may
be due to it, at such rate or rates as the stockholders repre-
senting the major part of the stock in said bank, shall, in
general meeting assembled, adjudge it to be worth; Provided,
The said president and directors, shall before they proceed
to take or receive said stock in payment for debt or debts
due to the institution as aforesaid, set apart and appropriate
a fund equal in amount, and fully adequate to the payment
of any debtor debts for which the said Planters Bank of
Prince George's County, may be justly liable at the time,
when the rate or rates at which the stock shall be received,
may be determined as aforesaid.

General meeting

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That the said president and di-
rectors may, as soon after the passage of this act as they
shall deem it expedient, convene the stockholders of said
institution at the office of the bank in Upper Malborough,
for the purpose of fixing the rate or rates at which the
stock of the bank shall be received from its debtors, as
provided by the preceding section, giving not less than
thirty days notice, by advertisement, in at least one news-
paper in the city of Washington, and one in the city of
Baltimore, of the time, place and object of said meeting

Repealing clause.

Sec. 3. And be it enacted, That any thing in the original
orteupplemental, [ ] to which this is a supplement,inconsistent
with, or repugnant to the provisions of this act, be and the
same is hereby repealed.

 

CHAPTER 177.

Passed Mar. 5,1832

An act to authorise the Register of Wills, of Saint Mary's
County, to record certain papers destroyed by fire, and for
other purposes.
