CHAP. 97.

CHAPTER 96,

Passed Feb. 23,1832

An act to authorise and empower the Commissioners of Cecil
County, to build a Bridge over the Big North East
Creek, at or near William Phillips , in said county.

Levy authorised

Section 1 . Be it enacted by the General Asembly of Ma-
ryland, That the commissioners of Cecil county, be, and
they are hereby authorised and required to levy on the as-
sessable property of said county a sum or sums of money
not exceeding six hundred dollars, to be collected as other
county charges are, and paid over to such commissioner or
commissioners as the said county commissioners may ap-
point, to contract for, and superintend the building of a
bridge, over the Big North East Creek, at or near William
Phillips.

Commissioners.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That the county commission-
ers hereby authorised and required to appoint one or more
commissioners not exceeding three, to contract with one or
more persons, to build the aforesaid bridge, and to super-
intend the construction of said bridge, and the said com-
missioner or commissioners shall take bond from the per-
son or persons contracting to build said bridge, conditioned
for the faithful performance of their duty therein, to be ap-
proved by the said county commissioners.

To account.

Sec. 3. And be it enabled. That the county commis-
sioners shall allow to the commissioner or commissioners
as the case may be, the sum of one dollar for each day, he
or they shall be necessarily employed in superintending the
erection of said bridge.

Compensation.

Sec. 4. And be it enacted, That the said commissioner
or commissioners, as the case may be, shall render a full
account to the county commissioners of all the money ex-
pended in building the said bridge, and the money if any
remaining on hand shall be returned, to the said county
commissioners for the use of said county.

 

CHAPTER 97.

Passed Feb.23,1832

An act to authorise the Justices of the Orphans Court of
Caroline County, to appoint their Crier.

Authority granted

Sec. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the justices of the orphans court of Caroline
county, be and they are hereby authorised to appoint their
crier, from and after the first day oi March next.
