CHAP. 150.
Not to extend
to banking
rights, &c.

owning a majority of shares of said company, shall be bind-
ing on the president and directors of said company.
Sec. 11. And be it enacted, That nothing in this act
contained shall beheld and construed to extend to the com-
pany, incorporated hereby, any banking rights or privi-
leges, or to do any actor thing inconsistent with the privi-
leges secured to the existing banking institutions in the city
of Baltimore by any act or acts of assembly now in force.

Right of legis-
lature to tax.
|
Sec. 12. And be it enacted, That nothing in this act
contained shall be construed to restrict the right of the le-
gislature, which is hereby reserved ir. its fullest extent, lo
impose from time to time, and at all times hereafter, and
levy such reasonable tax, by license or otherwise, upon all
the property, estate and funds, in which the capital stock
of said company shall be invested, in common with simi-
lar property, estate or funds, of any other company, cor-
poration, or individuals of this state.

Duration.
|
Sec. 13. And be it enacted. That this act shall continue
and he in force until the year eighteen hundred and sixty,
and until the end of the session of the general assembly
which shall be thereafter.

An Act for the relief of Thomas Murphey, of Queen-
Anne's County.
|

authorised to
examine ac-
count, &c.
|
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the judges of Queen-Anne's county court, he and
they are hereby authorised and empowered, to revise and
examine the account of Thomas Murphey, clerk of said
county, presented to levy court in the year eighteen hun-
dred and twenty-nine, and should they find upon examina-
tion, that improper and illegal deductions and abatements
have been made therefrom, to certify the amount thereof
to the present levy court of said county, whose duty it
shall be to levy the same on the assessable property of said
county, for the use of the said Thomas Murphey, to be col-
lected as other county charges are.
