tts they shall severally become due, and to demand and re-
ceive from such person or persons, upon the delivery of
the said certificates, a full acquittance and discharge for and
on behalf of the state, for the instalment for which the
said certificates were issued; Provided always, that in case 1
a premium of five per cent, per annum, or exceeding five
per centum may be obtained upon any loan required for
any instalment as aforesaid, that then and in that case it
shall be the duty of the said treasurer, with the advice and
consent of the governor and council as aforesaid, to elect
the first alternative as herein be!ore provided.

Proviso

Sec. 3. And be it enacted. That so soon as the state
shall have subscribed for the said stock in manner afore-
said, the governor and council shall be and are hereby au-
thorised, to appoint a director in said company on the part
of the state, agreeably to the original act for the incorpo-
ration of the said company.

Sec. 4. And be it enacted. That the provisions of the
act passed at the present session of the general assembly,
entitled, An act further to provide for the payment of the
future instalments on the state's subscription for stock of
the Baltimore and Ohio Rail Road, or Chesapeake and
Ohio Canal Companies, shall in all respects apply to the
state's subscription of stock of the said Susquehanna Rail
Road Company.

ike appointment of Commissioners for the regula-
tion and improvement oj Princess- Anne, in Somerset
County.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That so much of the act of December session eighteen hun-
dred and fifteen, chapter seventy-three, and of the several
supplements thereto, as relates to the western precincts of
Princess-Anne, in Somerset county, be and the same is

hereby repealed; Provided, that nothing in this act shall
extend to repeal said act, and its supplements, with regard
to persons residing within one hundred feet from the alley
which separates the town of Princess-Anne from the said
western precincts; And provided also, that all that part of
said precincts lying between said alley and a line drawa
