The Senate bill entitled an Act to repeal section 82 of Art-
icle XXIX. of the Code of Public General Laws, entitled
"Courts," providing for rendering judgment for the dam-
ages awarded by the jury upon the ratification of inquisitions
for condemning lands
With the following amendment:
AMENDMENT PROPOSED.
"An Act entitled an Act to repeal an Act entitled an Act
to add an additional section to Article XXIX. of the Code of
Public General Laws, entitled "Courts," providing for ren-
dering judgments for the damages awarded by the jury upon
the ratification of inquisitions for condemning lands, and to
re-enact the same with amendments, and to add additional
sections to the said Article of the Code.
Section 1. That section eighty-two of Article twenty-
nine of the Code of Public General Laws, entitled "Courts," as
enaeted by the General Assembly of Maryland, of eighteen
hundred and seventy, chapter three hundred and seventy-one,
be and the same is hereby repealed, and re-enacted and
amended, so as to read as follows :
82. In all cases of proceedings to condemn property for any
purpose whatever, under any law or charter, and whether
such proceedings be by inquisition of a jury, or otherwise,
upon the return and ratification of the inquisition by the
proper Court or upon other final award of damages, upon ap-
peal or otherwise, and in all cases in which inquisitions have
been heretofore returned and ratified, or damages otherwise
finally awarded, the owners named in the inquisition or other
