Mr. Earle, from the Committee on Finance, reported favor-
ably on the following bills.

Which were severally read the second time.

The House bill entitled au Act to authorize the Governor,
Comptroller and Treasurer to settle the accounts of Charles E.
Maguire, late weigher of live stock, and to compromise with
his sureties, if in their judgment the same is advisable.

Also,

The House bill entitled an Act appropriating a sum of
money to pay for certain buildings erected in connection with
the Washington University, in the city of Baltimore.

Also,

The House bill entitled an Act for the promotion of Agri-
culture and the Mechanical and Household Arts, in Harford
county.

Also,

The House bill entitled au Act to pay R. T. Hambleton

the sum of $49.00.

Also,

An Act to appropriate a sum of money to pay L. F. Col-
ton & Company, for printing School Report.

Mr. McCulloh, from the Committee on Pensions, reported
favorably on

The House bill entitled an Act for the benefit of Emeline
Redue, widow of Joseph Redue, Solomon Scott and John D.
Soloway.

Which was read the first time and referred to the Commit-
tee on Pensions.

The Senate at 12:15 proceeded to the consideration of the
order of the day, being

The House bill entitled an Act to repeal Article LXXI. of
the Code of Public General Laws, relating to the taking and
catching of oysters, and to enact the following in lieu thereof.

The question being upon the amendment proposed by the
Committee on the Chesapeake Bay and its Tributaries, on
March 20th, viz:

End of section 17 add, "or the citizens of Somerset and
Wicomico from using the waters of the Wicomico river and
the mouth thereof in common, or the citizens of Talbot and
Queen Anne's, from using the waters of Wye river and the
month thereof in common.'"
