and Mechanics' Bank of Baltimore city.

Mr: Claggett, from the Committee on Judicial Proceed-
ings, reported

The Senate bill entitled an Act to declare the sanction of
the General Assembly of Maryland to the bequest and devise
of Charles Spates, late of Montgomery county, deceased, to
the Trustees of the Baptist Church, at Rockville, in Mont-
gomery county, Maryland.

Which was read the first time.

Mr. Walsh, from the Committee on Agriculture, reported

The Senate bill entitled an Act for the taxation of Dogs in
the State of Maryland.

Mr. Stevens, from the Committee on Corporations, re-
ported

The Senate bill entitled an Act to repeal Article XXI. of
section 7 of an Act entitled an Act to create State Banking
Institutions, and to enable the several banks of this State
(State and National) to avail of the provisions thereof, passed
at January Session, 1870, chapter 206, and to impose a tax
on the issue of notes put in circulation by State Banks and
Banking Institutions.

The Senate bill entitled an Act to amend Article XXVI.
of the Code of Public General Laws of Maryland, entitled
"Corporations," as enacted and amended by the General As-
sembly of Maryland, by an Act passed at the January Ses-
sion, 1868, chapter 471, by adding thereto the following sec-
tions, to follow section 219 of said Article, and to be num-
bered 220, 221, 222 and 223, relating to Building and Home-
stead Associations, Loan and Land Companies.

tion of certain Ancient Records in the office of the Register
of Wills of Anne Arundel county,
