The Senate bill entitled an Act to appropriate a sum of
money to pay the claim of Thomas C. Basshor & Co., for
work done and materials furnished in the room of the Presi-
dent of the Senate,

Was read the second time and ordered to be engrossed for
a third reading.

The House bill entitled an Act giviug the sanction of the
General Assembly of Maryland to a certain legacy bequeathed
by the last will and testament of Susan Welty, to the
German Baptist Church, commonly called "Welty's Church,"

Was read the third time and passed by yeas and nays as
follows:

AFFIRMATIVE.

The House bill entitled an Act to repeal sections 4, 12 and
15 of an Act incorporating the town of Laurel,'in Prince
George's county, and to enact the same with amendments.

Being on second reading,

Mr. Williams submitted the following amendment:

Amend by striking out "section 2" and inserting in lieu
thereof.

"Section 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take ef-
fect from the date of its passage."

Which was adopted.
