taking a vote of the people residing in said part or portion to
be so annexed, for or against such annexation.

Which was read the first time.

Mr. Davis submitted the following order :

Ordered, That the printed House Bill No. 37, be referred
to the Committee on Judicial Proceedings, with direction to
make full inquiry into all matters relating to the said bill,
the necessity of the same, and the result of the passage by
the Senate of the same.

Mr. Phelps submitted the following amendment to the
order:

Amend by striking out all after the words ''Judicial Pro-
ings."

Which was adopted.

Mr. Earle moved to refer the order to a Select Committee.

The question being upon the order submitted by Mr. Davis,

It was determined in the affirmative by yeas and nay as
follows :

ciations, Homestead Associations, and Land Companies in
this State,

Endorsed 'Passed by yeas and nays with proposed amend-
ments."
