resolution to their respective Houses, and to use their best
endeavors to prevent the passage of the said Supplemental
Civil Rights Bill, or any bill having similar provisions, and
especially that provision requiring a maintenance of mixed
schools in this State."

On motion by Steiner,
The Resolutions were ordered to lie over.
Also, returned

Senate Joint Resolutions relating to the Boundary Line
between the States of Maryland and Virginia.

Endorsed, "Passed by yeas and nays with proposed
amendments."

AMENDMENT PROPOSED.

Amend by striking out the name of "Hon. W. P. Whyte"
in the third line of fourth Resolution, and inserting the
name of the "Hon. J. W. Davis."

On motion by Mr. Brattan,
The Senate concurred in the amendments, and

The Resolutions were read the third time and passed by

Leave was granted to Messrs. Brewer, Tuck and Denson to
introduce a bill entitled an Act to repeal Article XXVIII. of
the Code of Public General Laws, title "County Commis-
sioners," sub-title "Meridian Line Standard" and to re-enact
the same with amendments.

On motion by Mr. Stevens,

The Senate proceeded to the consideration to bills on third
reading.

The Senate bill entitled an Act to amend and add another
